Billboard Campaign Honors Law Enforcement

blue lives matter Atlanta Billboards

A message from a Memphis based advertising agency wanting to honor local police officers has gone viral. Digital billboards around the U.S. are honoring police with the message, “Blue Lives Matter.”  The campaign started as a way to honor local blue, but spread when Lamar Advertising liked the idea and donated space on over 150 digital billboards nationwide.  The message will be seen in several states, including Michigan, Oregon, Ohio, Massachusetts and right here in Georgia.  A Lamar spokesman says they are proud to support law enforcement.  He says they are “using digital billboards to voice respect for officers across the country who put their lives ar risk every day to keep the public safe.  This is our way of saying thank you.”  Police say they support the message, but they want to stress that ALL lives matter.  The message can be seen on billboards through the end of the month.

March Madness Goes Digital

It’s March, and generally that means one thing…Madness for college basketball!  But this year, if you can’t watch your favorite team on TV, you may see how they are doing on your way home.  Lamar Advertising is posting real time scores on digital billboards in each team’s home area.  They are also running a twitter campaign at #BillboardBrackets and posting tweets in real time.  The billboard and Twitter campaign is a tournament of sorts in it’s own right…as teams are eliminated, so are the markets they came from, so at the end, only one market will remain.  It’s a cool way for the indoor madness to spread outdoor.  The tournament continues until April 6, with the championship game being played in Indianapolis.

Billboard Selfies for Charity

Creative Chatter Selfie Billboards

Some of us take them more than others, but we’ve all done it – take a selfie.  Well, now your photo can go viral on a billboard and be seen by millions of people for a good cause.  Creative Chatter Communities is a charity that pairs up organizations in need with donors.  They have partnered with Lamar Advertising to bring “The Ultimate Selfie” campaign to billboards around the country in over 40 cities.  For a $25 donation, you can upload a photo and a message for consideration.  If your photo and message is approved, it will be displayed on digital billboards around the country, as well as on Creative Chatter’s Facebook page, getting your photo in front of even more people.   The campaign runs through April 2…no word on whether we will be seeing the selfies here in Atlanta.
